Raw Fed and Lean!

I’m happy to report that Rosie, featured in my previous blog post “Raw Fed and Fat?!,” has lost six pounds in three months and is now at her ideal weight of sixty pounds!

How did Rosie achieve this goal? We stuck to the essentials, which included Dr. Harvey’s Paradigm, Dr. Harvey’s Healthy Shine Oils, and the Dr. Harvey’s supplements: Herbal Relax Supplement, Solaris, and CoEnzyme Q10. For her proteins we used pasture-raised eggs and a variety of proteins from Raw Feeding Miami.

Oh, and let’s not forget Dr. Harvey’s TREATS! As crazy as it sounds, treats were a part of Rosie’s weight-loss plan. We couldn’t deprive Rosie of a treat for being a good girl (or even just looking cute). Luckily, the treats we give Our Five Dogs are healthy, single-ingredient treats, and Rosie has her favorites: Dr. Harvey’s Sweet Potato Chews, Dr. Harvey’s Freeze Dried Chicken Hearts and Dr. Harvey’s Salmon Bites. I tweaked her meal plan slightly on big treat days to account for the extra calories, and would do the same when Rosie would get her bi-weekly Answer’s Pig Foot for her dental health.

The only part of the weight-loss plan that could have been handled better was her exercise routine. As mentioned in my previous blog post, Rosie’s name is very fitting as she loves to “stop and smell the roses” on her daily walks, and she continued to do so during her weight-loss journey. I rationalized the pace by reminding myself that a slower-paced walk still has many benefits. In fact, walks which allow dogs to engage in all of the enticing smells around them is considered enrichment and exercise for their brains! I do want her mind to stay sharp, and I love seeing Rosie’s excitement at every stop (which in reality is every few feet).

Now that Rosie is at her ideal weight, my goal is to MAINTAIN her ideal weight. And, that I can do thanks in part to all of the incredible Dr. Harvey’s products.

After contacting Dr. Harvey’s to share the physical and mental health benefits that I witnessed after switching my dogs’ diets to Paradigm, Dr. Harvey’s has since given me free products from their lines of food, supplements, treats, and grooming essentials for my honest feedback.
